What is an IEP?
The IEP is an official document that clearly states what the school will do to meet the individual needs of a child with a disability.  The IEP must be reviewed and revised annually. 

The IEP includes:
•           Annual goals and short term objectives for the student with a disability
•           List of activities that the student with participate in
•           Methods of measurement to determine whether or not the student has reached his / her objectives
•           Assistive Technology needed to assist the student in attaining the objectives

The Multidisciplinary Team (M Team)
It should include anyone knowledgeable about the student and the student’s needs.  It consists of any of the following individuals:
•           Parents
•           Teachers
•           Professionals (doctor, physical therapist, speech therapist, etc.)
•           Advocates
•           Professional in the area of assistive technology (if assistive technology needs will be identified on the IEP)

Parents have the right to made recommendations as to who is on the M Team, they have the right to access to the information gathered and to appeal any findings of the M Team if needed.
