Description

The Wisconsin Assistive Technology Initiative (WATI) is a statewide project to make assistive technology devices and services more available to children with disabilities.

Wisconsin Assistive Technology Initiative
assists school districts and Birth to 3 programs
in their responsibility to ensure that every
child in Wisconsin who may need assistive
technology (AT) has equal and timely access
to appropriate assessment and the provision
and implementation of needed AT devices
and services.
The goal is to improve the outcomes and
results for children with disabilities birth to
21 through the use of assistive technology to
access services, curriculum, and school and
community activities. The project increases
the capacity of early intervention agencies,
school districts, and their partners to provide
assistive technology by making training and
technical assistance available throughout

Assistive Technology

The WATI Lending Library is intended to provide access to assistive technology equipment, software, and resources for children throughout Wisconsin. The Lending Library offers short term loans (5 weeks) free of charge to service providers in school districts and Birth to 3 programs. Families should contact their school district or Birth-3 consultant if interested in borrowing from the library. All loans are made through these programs. The agency borrowing the item is responsible for the condition of the items and return postage.
Assistive technology is available for the following tasks: Writing, Communication, Reading, Studying, Math & Science, Recreation and Leisure, Electronic Aids to Daily Living, Mobility, Vision Hearing
